The 2019 Ford Ranger Boasts Best in Class MPG
We couldn’t be more excited about the all-new 2019 Ranger. It is the ideal adventure truck that has serious off-road capability and meets the demands of everyday life. And just to sweeten the deal, Ford announced last week that the truck will also provide best in class MPG.
Per the EPA estimated fuel economy, the 2-wheel drive Ranger will get 21 mpg city and 26 highway, making for a combined 23 mpg. The 4-wheel drive version is just below that. It received an estimated fuel economy rating of 20 city, 24 highway, and 22 combined mpg.
Both configurations just barely nudge their main competitor’s, Tacoma and Colorado, but any difference matters. Ford was able to achieve these numbers courtesy of their 2.3L Ecoboost engine, which still touts 310 pounds-feet of torque to claim the crown in their class. They pair the engine with the same 10-speed automatic transmission from their F series trucks.
The evidence is really starting to pile up in favor of getting a new 2019 Ranger. Make sure to preorder yours before it’s too late.
